Question

Can anyone tell me why bedspreads are an endangered species? I have searched catalogs and stores and, so far, find only comforters, beds in bags that include sheets and pillow shams with comforters, and other miscellaneous bedding. If Martha Stewart is responsible for the demise of bedspreads, then I have another reason not to buy any of her stuff.

Respect Revisited

The results of a Gallup survey of teenagers, which I read this morning, are quite noteworthy. They were asked what their career preferences were. To my great surprise, teacher was No. 1 on the list, just above doctor and lawyer. Secretary didn’t make the top ten. Nor did any type of skilled labor make the list. The park manager had told me there are many leaks in the ancient water system, so we let them know one of them may be under our lawn. I’m not… click here to continue

Alaska Cruise - Finale

Once we were back in the Pacific Ocean, rough stormy weather accompanied us from Ketchikan to Victoria.  Having left Ketchikan at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, we were scheduled to arrive in Victoria at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Late Friday afternoon the captain announced that we were two hours behind schedule due to weather conditions and would probably arrive in Victoria… click here to continue

Alaska Cruise - Continued 3

I omitted a couple of highlights of the trip. A fall on my face in Juneau, left me with a broken front tooth, a cut lip, and a scraped knee. The cut on my lip is nearly invisible now, the knee is mostly healed, and the dentist rebuilt the tooth today. I’m not as good as new, but may be… click here to continue
