Lost Ear Found

Absolutely no writing took place in this office today. Everything I do seems to take much longer these days than it used to. A trip to the chiropractor, rearranging office furniture, a nap and a swim used up the whole day.

My two desks and bookcases are against the walls now, so there is some open space in… click here to continue

Here and There

Today I drove to the Social Security office in Beaverton. It’s only about eight miles from here, but they are eight miles of some of the worst driving conditions in this area. It seems impossible to get on or off Highway 217 at any hour without a hassle. When I was in the wrong lane to make the necessary left… click here to continue

I now have it down to 1392 words without (I hope) losing any of its value. While I was paring, I kept remembering things I had left out that were… click here to continue

Slow Saturday

Had a quiet day today. I did a little deadheading of flowers, a little mowing, and a little watering outside. Inside, I did as little as possible. Sometimes the clutter in one spot gets to me, so I sorted out stuff in the back bathroom, put some away and threw some away.

The stacks of papers in… click here to continue

Writing Projects and a Gripe

I’m working on two writing projects more or less simultaneously right now.

One is an account of my adventures in publishing over the last ten years or so. The editor of a writing newsletter has solicited articles from authors who’ve used various methods of publishing to pass on information and encouragement to budding writers. If I can polish… click here to continue
