Chess and Mess

Once again, I’m attempting to learn to play chess. Al, who would love to have a regular chess partner, is a patient teacher. We’ll see if this old head can remember what’s poured into it.

Yesterday I received an email purporting to be from PayPal asking for an update on my account information. It looked pretty legitimate and… click here to continue

Spring is Coming--Slowly

Al has suddenly flung himself into a spring-cleaning mode and I’m trying not to fall into a guilt funk. I should offer a challenge such as “I can throw away more than you can.” I need to throw away more.

We had snow this morning that melted during the afternoon. More is predicted tonight and tomorrow morning. Winter’s… click here to continue

Warm and Dry in Front of My Computer

Laundry and dishes usually get done. Vacuuming and dusting may be done when the need gets desperate. Some writing usually gets at least… click here to continue

A Pleasant Sunday

We had a wonderful afternoon with my cousin, his wife, and his mother, my aunt. He and his mother would make a good vaudeville team. We had a great dinner and a fun card game with lots of laughs. Before dinner, we spent some time reminiscing and looking at old pictures, some of family members who are no longer with… click here to continue

Headed Down Life’s Muddy Road

I’m feeling headachy and cranky tonight. It didn’t help that I lost all but two games of cards to Al . He has phenomenal luck much of the time. Once in a while a little of it comes my way, but not often enough.

I’m on the last two days of antibiotics, so maybe I’m getting the… click here to continue
