Zzzzzz

Tonight it will be a fight to the finish to see if I can get something written before I fall asleep. My reward for sitting for hours in an outpatient surgery clinic this afternoon is a colored picture, suitable for framing, of my nearly-healed ulcer. I’ll spare you the gory details, but it’s almost a relief to know it’s… click here to continue

Modern Inconveniences

After several days of searching for an insurance policy I knew I had received and the bill for the premium, I decided to take one more look in my little safe. I have already reduced the… click here to continue

Farewell to Disembodied Voices

I’m delighted to note that AOL has an article this evening about a few progressive companies in this country who’ve actually noticed that some of us human beings prefer to speak to other human beings on the phone when we are attempting to avail ourselves of services. Eureka! Is there hope that service will be reincarnated? Please let it… click here to continue

Sick Day

It has occurred to me that it’s grossly unfair not to be able to take a sick day when you’re retired. So, today I’m taking a sick day. I’m actually on the mend; the sick part was an hour or two during the night that interrupted my sleep. So, I made up the lost sleep this morning and got… click here to continue
