Countdown to Blastoff

We are in the final countdown to departure Friday evening. My list of “must-do’s” is getting shorter. I have all my toiletries, makeup, etc. packed in a transparent case and in small containers. The final packing will be tomorrow afternoon. I have the clothes I plan to take hanging together in one end of the closet, so it shouldn’t… click here to continue

Sunday Summary

A quiet Sunday spent reading the paper, doing my swim/exercise bit and watching The Titanic for the first time. I’m not usually into disaster movies and this isn’t a particularly good time to watch a ship sink, but it is a good movie.

Our cleaning gal is due on Tuesday,… click here to continue

Nothing Can Go Wrong, I Hope

A retired Navy Chief who is the best buddy of a former friend, was famous for his cheerful, “Nothing can go wrong!” Now that we have plunked down five hundred dollars and change for insurance that we will not lose our air or cruise fare if the weather or some other disaster prevents us from boarding the ship on… click here to continue

The Village Green is White Tonight

We woke to see a couple of inches of snow on the ground this morning and powder snow still falling. It stopped for awhile, then big, wet flakes fell for a short time and we probably have a couple of inches or so accumulated. Since it is 29 degrees outside, it’s not likely to melt any time soon. We may… click here to continue
