Good Friends

An article in the newspaper a day or so ago about two elderly women who had been friends most of their lives touched me. It reminded me of the loss of a good friend of more than sixty years. She succumbed to cancer several years ago. She lived too far away for us to get together often. Sometimes we… click here to continue

Snow Scare

Yesterday morning I awoke to see white covering many surfaces outside and what looked like powder snow coming down. That prompted this little ditty:

To the Weather Controller:

If I want to see snow,
I’ll rent a video.

Fortunately, the snowstorm was brief and melted rapidly. This morning the temperature on the front porch was about ten degrees warmer… click here to continue

If I don’t have a morning newspaper or some other reading material, I read the cereal boxes at… click here to continue

Insomni-NOT

I just had three good nights’ sleep in a row. This has not happened for a long time. No getting up to read, drinking hot sugar-free cocoa, etc. to try to get sleepy. I’m going to try for four tonight. I’m tired and had no nap today, so I should be able to sleep.

Swimming almost every day… click here to continue

Sunshine and Blue Sky

I spent a beautiful afternoon in my chair in front of my computer, alternately working on my memoir stories and sorting old letters, reading them as I worked. Family history produces quite a few chuckles along with some notes of sadness. When I got up a few minutes ago, I realized I’d been sitting way too long.

Yesterday… click here to continue
