A Legal Opinion

An interesting email popped into my inbox this evening and I had a good time responding to it. It was a request from Legal Vote to give my opinion as a pseudo juror in an alleged actual personal injury lawsuit. I checked out Legal Vote and decided they looked fairly legitimate. I was suspicious at first, but they only… click here to continue

Technology Woes

With more than sixty years practice at keyboarding, as it’s now called, I’m pretty skilled at it. It was called typing, back in the day, as they say. So now I have a stack of poems I’ve written over the years that are not in my new computer with its already-obsolete Vista operating system. I have the poems on a… click here to continue

Alert—Not

My level of alertness, as I approach the eightieth anniversary of my birth is, I believe, sufficient to survive in this crazy mixed-up society we call “civilization.” However, I’m not sure it’s enough to allow me to thrive and prosper. “Thrive” is sort of a mantra word for my health maintenance organization. Yesterday afternoon, I went on a window-shopping expedition to get decorating ideas for the party next month. We… click here to continue

Sniffles

I’ve been fighting a miserable (is there any other kind?) cold for about a week now. Consequently, I haven’t been exercising and I really miss it. For the last couple of nights I’ve been able to sleep fairly well by propping my head up with two pillows, and I’m not coughing—the problem is all in my head—enough mucus to… click here to continue

Observations on a Recent Cruise

Inclement weather and other factors affected our recent cruise to the point that it was not nearly as great as it could have been. We have given our ages a prominent role in deciding whether to cruise again, or even travel very far away. We are not as flexible, physically, mentally or emotionally, as we were even a couple… click here to continue
