Bowled Over

Over the years, at different times in my life, I bowled in several different leagues; one in Mountlake Terrace, Washington in the 1950’s and another that I remember was the Portland Servetus Singles Club league in the 1960’s or 1970’s, I’m not sure. I learned to bowl at the University of Washington in 1947 for a physical education credit. In… click here to continue

Better Day

Today was a better day than I’ve had for a while. I had enough energy to swim this morning, and do a little grocery shopping and a little laundry. I still spent about half the day sitting around, dabbling at the computer and resting. But I have noticeably more energy. For several months I’ve been thinking about buying a Nintendo Wii to keep us off the couch this winter, so I decided today would be the day. When I got to the store this afternoon, there was also a coupon for a $50.… click here to continue

Sort of a Nothing Day

A recent assignment for members of our TOPS group was to write down something you’ve accomplished each day. We had a meeting this morning and, even though the actual meetings are only an hour and a half long, it seems to kill the whole morning.

I rushed home after the meeting to watch the President at a health care public… click here to continue

We Are Cool

We are expecting record-breaking temperatures today and tomorrow—in the mid-nineties—not as bad as those we had earlier. We have already had more days over 90 and more over 100 this year, than our average. Last week we had a couple of days when I was tempted to turn on heat, but I put on a sweater or a jacket… click here to continue
