Back Among the Living

This morning I went to the pool and planned to take a shortened swim, but when I got in the warm water, it felt so good I stayed an hour. It didn’t hurt that there were friends there to talk to. I’m beginning to feel like a normal human being again, albeit an old one.

Memories

It’s unlikely that I’ll be up for any more long trips in this lifetime, but I get a real kick out of seeing pictures of places I’ve been flashed on the television screen or online. Often, Wheel of Fortune gives away trips. Last night one trip was to Belize. When I saw the shot of the Mayan ruins there, I… click here to continue

Road to Recovery

After a late day visit to a doctor yesterday, I started popping antibiotics and continuing with soft food and all the home remedies I’d already been doing. Since I’m not up to any major physical effort, I’m spending lots of time on the computer. Today I organized some poetry contest… click here to continue

Heavy is the Head That Wears

No, not a crown—a lousy sinus infection that makes me feel like the left side of my head weighs fifty pounds and chewing oatmeal hurts my teeth. But I’ve been here before and I always get better. I’d like to blame all the dust I’ve raised rearranging furniture and files in this room, but it’s probably just something I picked… click here to continue

Survival

I have survived two days in a row of unusual energy for sorting and organizing and, as a result, have a pile of stuff for Goodwill, a desk to donate to Union Gospel Mission, since Goodwill doesn’t pick up, and a couple of loads of trash and recycling. I hope I’m back to normal by tomorrow otherwise I might not… click here to continue
