Do You Remember

It’s a new experience for me to belong to an organization where the majority of the members are old enough to have memory problems. The pro tem secretary of our T.O.P.S. chapter couldn’t remember who had been the best loser at last week’s meeting and she wanted to include that in the minutes, so she called me this morning. I… click here to continue

What’s New

I’m finally accumulating a few new articles of clothing that fit fairly well. Unfortunately, due to the fact that I’ve shrunk an inch and a half and because most pants now are hemmed for those who wear four-inch heels or higher, I can’t seem to get pants the right length. Petite is too short, and regular too long. The nice… click here to continue

Monday Morning Meeting

Approximately four… click here to continue

With Halloween approaching, we talked at our last session about holidays and how memorable many of them are. We brainstormed about Halloween events we remember and I recalled one particular one from my childhood.

I think I was eleven. We had moved from… click here to continue

Deja Vu

CBS World News tonight did a very short segment on the Matchmaking Festival in Lisdoonvarna, Ireland. Even though I was dozing before dinner, it caught my attention. In 1998 I was at that festival and danced at the Matchmaker Pub. I’m not sure that’s where they taped the segment; the pub looked roomier than when I was there. However, it… click here to continue

Diversion Excursion

Friday afternoon I drove to the coast, specifically to Wheeler, Oregon on Nehalem Bay, where I spent the night. Saturday morning I went to Manzanita for a writers’ workshop. The presenter was the same woman who held the workshop I went to in June. The format was pretty much the same also, but the four other participants were all different… click here to continue
