Friends

I’ve written before about how friends move away and die away as we grow older, so I really appreciate the few close friends I’m in regular contact with. (I love to end sentences with prepositions.)

Today I learned I have one more thing in common with a good friend of many years. Not a commonality either of us… click here to continue

Disappointing Open House

Our T.O.P.S. (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) Chapter went to a great deal of trouble to plan an open house to possibly attract new members. We sent press releases to the local papers, posted notices in numerous locations around King City and planned decorations and refreshments (beverages only). Not one person showed up.

Next, why do we have so many telephone companies that it’s impossible to compare them and are stuck with one television cable company that keeps raising prices and lowering service? I finally got an actual human… click here to continue

Regrouping

My recent trip to the Emergency Room plus another short siege of symptoms have convinced me that I’m probably not dealing well with stress. Fortunately, my year as leader of King City T.O.P.S. Chapter ends the first of April. Today, I gave notice that I will not run for reelection. It’s been a good learning experience, but I haven’t lost… click here to continue

Self-Help Rehab

Since I’m convinced that my chest pains were caused by stress or indigestion or both, I called the Mental Health Department of my health insurance carrier. I had a conversation with a therapist, who said I probably don’t need counseling and recommended a self-help book. I got the book and began working my way through it.

At the end… click here to continue
