Welcome to Tardy Summer

Finally, we’ve had several gorgeous days. The sun beat down on our indoor pool this afternoon. Usually the plastic pool cover has a filter added in the summer, but it hasn’t shown up yet. Today is probably the first day it was needed. I wore my sunglasses in the pool and sunscreen, but my face felt burnt. However I had… click here to continue

Summer, Finally?

We celebrated Father’s Day at a lovely dinner with all of Floyd’s family who live nearby. Next week his son and family from Atlanta will arrive and be here for a couple of weeks and, probably, some of that time the Seattle son and family will be in town also.

I hope the good weather that finally showed up… click here to continue

Father’s Day

My computer index tells me that I wrote about this subject before—a couple of years ago. Around Father’s Day, I reflect that my father and both of my childrens fathers are no longer alive. My son was just a teenager when he lost his father, nearly thirty years ago. My daughter’s father lived into his seventies, so he’s not been… click here to continue

Actually, we had a… click here to continue

I’m sure much of the world is watching what happens with the oil spill in the… click here to continue

Modern Marketing

For quite a few years now, I’ve done most of my clothes shopping from catalogs or on line. Walking through malls is too hard on my feet. I got along well when my weight was stable, but now that I’ve lost thirty pounds, it’s a little tricky. The other problem—that I no longer wear high heels and most pants are… click here to continue

Lost and Found

For several weeks I’ve been looking for a poem I wrote fifteen or twenty years ago. I can’t find it in either computer or on a CD of poems in my file. There is no hard copy in my file drawer, either. I want to insert it in one of my memoir stories. I think I even remember the name… click here to continue
