The Very Old and the New

For many years I’ve been fascinated by the Mayan civilization history. I had the good fortune to visit Mayan ruins in Belize on a Caribbean cruise. It was a wonderful experience. Feeling Guilty

Vicarious Living

I’ve pretty much decided that my travel from now on will be vicarious through friends and relatives. Yesterday my daughter flew to San Antonio for a week’s vacation with a woman friend. They plan to visit the Alamo—a site I missed seeing when I was in the vicinity because of traffic. So she will take pictures for me.

Summer’s Last Stand

Today was a beautiful sunny 72-degree high day—the last of this year the weather forecasters tell us. They’re probably right. I was glad not to have any classes or meetings, but got outside and ran errands instead. While I was out, I got my flu shot. Times are changing in many respects, but maybe not in the most important ways. Communication is universal and constant. Do You Suppose?

Could there be a secret contest that no one knows about except the television networks to see who can produce the worst sitcom?
