Tripping

Getting ready to go on a trip was once a matter of throwing a few things into a bag and leaving. Now that I’ve lived three-quarters of a century, it seems I do everything more slowly. It takes me at least a week to get ready for a week’s trip.

It’s not entirely my fault, however. I spent… click here to continue

That Little Black Cloud

Those of us who remember Al Capp’s Li’l Abner comic strip can recall one of his characters, who traveled with a black cloud above his head. His name was Joe Btsflpk (or something similar) and he would not have had any luck at all except for bad luck.

Writing class was extremely enjoyable this afternoon. There was enough time for all of us to share a bit of our writing and critique each other’s work. Our instructor critiques also, and will write a one-sentence comment on each contribution.

A poem I wrote a month ago was discussed and good feedback given to a question I had… click here to continue

Sorting Out My Life

Part of the purpose of all the sorting I’ve been doing, is to gather information for my memoirs. I knew I had saved at least one of my old resumes, but couldn’t find the file. Today I stumbled on a file titled “Kudos, Resumes, and Employment Records.” How conceited is that?

When I start destroying papers in anticipation… click here to continue
