A Couple of Eventful Days

Yesterday the temperature here dropped suddenly and the predicted rainstorm turned to snow. Four inches fell where we are. Because it was unexpected, almost no drivers were prepared, so havoc resulted. I heard on the news today that approximately a thousand drivers abandoned their cars on freeways and main roads or highways. I’m sure we’ll be hearing sad stories for a long time about the terrible gridlock and crashes.

Almost all the snow is gone here now, so my drive to Beaverton this afternoon was uneventful. I had two cysts removed from my scalp. One was quite large and left a “divot” to which the nurse applied a pressure bandage and proceeded to wrap my head like a mummy to hold it in place. We had some fun imagining how I would explain to a police officer if I got stopped driving home. However, it was dark when I left, so I didn’t get to try out any of the clever remarks we came up with.

The local anesthetic is wearing off and I hope I won’t have a headache and can sleep. I’m really tired. Even though the procedures were simple, any surgery is traumatic.
