A Semi-Sunny DayAfter cooking two small potatoes for nearly ten minutes in our little microwave yesterday, I decided it is losing its power and I could have cooked them faster on the stove. Coincidentally, Bi-Mart had the microwave I’d looked at when I moved here on sale for $80. It was $100. when I looked at it previously. So, I brought home a stainless steel model that I haven’t tried out yet because Floyd brought Chinese take-out home tonight. I guess I could at least heat a cup of water in it. This morning King City Civic Association presented the monthly musical program. Thirty-five women singers entertained us for an hour or so with a variety of music. The audience was invited to join in on some of the old songs, which was fun. Floyd and I walked over to hear the program and then he went to work for the afternoon. It was a pleasant and mostly sunny day. In the afternoon, I ran errands and did a little shopping, including the microwave purchase. We are being given a real Christmas tree, so I started accumulating a few decorations. I gave all mine away a few years back. I intend to get by with minimal ornaments. It’s too much trouble to put them up and take them down and then store them.
I was delighted to learn, this evening, that the O.J. Simpson atrocity has been called off. As another swimmer said to me tonight in the pool, “It’s a miracle that man is still alive. I’m surprised no one’s shot him.” As much as I abhor violence, I don’t think I’d lose any sleep over such a happening.
