A Very Nice ChristmasSo far, we’ve had three holiday meals with loved ones, with another gathering coming up on Monday and a post-Christmas, pre-birthday dinner early in January. If I get through all this celebration without gaining any weight, it’ll be a miracle. After my swim/exercise session this morning, we had Chinese with my daughter and son-in-law. Son-in-law kindly moved a dresser down from the attic for me and I spent a couple of hours re-arranging the office/guest/spare room. I’m hopeful that physical exercise will burn some of the many calories I’ve been ingesting. When all the festivities are over, around mid-January, life will return to the mundane and the tasks that were abandoned in December. I hope to get a lot of photos sorted, organized, and distributed among those who are interested. Every winter I have a project like that on the agenda. Also, I intend to continue writing and editing memoir stories. My writing class starts again in mid-January. In April, I’ll have my final check-in for the weight loss maintenance study I’ve been in for more than a year. Then I’ll be on my own to continue the weight control. I’m disappointed I’ve been unable to lose the last five pounds or so to reach my goal, so far. I live in hope. |
