Another Question

Yesterday I saw an article in the paper about the 25-year old man who founded Facebook and who is now a billionaire. Although I have joined Facebook, I know very little about it. It occurred to me to wonder how it generates income since, as far as I can see, getting on it and using it to communicate with “friends” is free. I haven’t seen any advertising when I go to the site, either.

Later today, while driving back from the swimming pool, I heard that Facebook signed on its two hundred fifty millionth member this weekend. I’ve noticed that a lot of time can be spent checking that website and the several others I’ve signed onto also. I’m sure there are many that I’ve not even heard of. The possibilities for communication these days are infinite.

At my age, my time is not infinite and so I’ll have to resist the temptation to spend hours on these sites, but allot a certain amount of time for such activity and budget the rest of my time between chores and exercise and writing. At least that’s my good intention.
