Back from the Beach

We returned today from three days at the coast, to pleasantly warm weather here at home. A few miles South of Newport, Tuesday and Wednesday were overcast and Thursday was sunny and about 70 degrees. The cloudy days were good for reading and practicing bridge hands. Yesterday we explored some of the surrounding area and beaches. This morning we left early while fog still hung over the ocean, and drove into bright sunshine as we came inland.

Since I returned to more than 100 waiting emails, I’ve been weeding and reading off and on this afternoon and evening.

In the early afternoon, the King City Civic Association gathered new residents for an orientation of sorts. We were given information about the many activities that are available and told where we could learn more about the ones of interest to each of us.

Tonight we practiced bridge after dinner and I swam a while.

Tomorrow’s agenda depends somewhat on the weather. Rain and cooler temperatures may dampen plans to drive up the Gorge.
