Cable LandToday I entered cable land on my way to wireless computering. I don’t even have to know what I’m doing, it appears, as long as someone does. I’m hoping that someone will be my son-in-law, who can finish the installation and free me from a desk. I now have a little black box with four green eyes and a blinking yellow eye that is connected to my desktop computer. When the wireless router is up and running I will allegedly be able to use either computer almost anywhere on the premises. Unfortunately, the room where the cable connection already existed is not the room where the computer desk is. So, I’m teetering the monitor and keyboard on a folding tea cart, and sliding the mouse around on top of the tower which sits on the floor.
Stay tuned, I’ll let you know how it all turns out. It’s a relief not to have to be begging a “communications” company to communicate with me any more.
