Christmas SpiritGrinding my way through signing Christmas cards, updating address labels, etc. hasn’t exactly pulled me from “Bah, Humbug,” to “It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas.” Having run out of blank labels and printer ink simultaneously was not helpful, especially since I didn’t have time to shop the last couple of days. Too many errands and a swim took up most of my time Friday. Saturday, however, we went to the Portland Symphony Yuletide Concert, with tickets furnished by my daughter-in-law, who sings in the production. The matinee was a great way to get into the Holiday spirit. Colorful costumes, good voices, cute dance routines, and the powerful Portland Symphony kept us well entertained. The narrator for “The Christmas Carol” was outstanding. I don’t envy any of the cast who did the afternoon performance and an evening show, as well. It will run Sunday and Monday evenings, also. So now I’m starting to ease into “Ho, ho, ho” time and not a minute too soon. Sunday I need to get in another swim since the pool will be closed for chemical treatment on Monday and Tuesday and I need all the exercise I can get this time of year. I hope to get the necessary supplies to get my Christmas cards and letters on their way sometime Sunday also. Just discovered a halfway decent movie on TV, so goodnight.
