It seems I’ve successfully convinced my helper that we should rearrange the living room and the deed is scheduled for tomorrow after breakfast. If we sleep in as well as we did today, it won’t be very early. But I’m anxious to see how it’ll work out.

After the furniture moving, I hope to take a swim to stretch my insulted muscles.

Thursday we plan to go to Newport for a couple of days at the cabin near there. We hope for good weather, but the beach is always fun no matter what the weather.

I’m searching for pictures to go with my contribution to another writer’s book. When and if I find a few appropriate ones, I have to refresh my memory of how to send them. These days if I don’t perform a computer function often, the “how to” falls out of my head. But I do write up instructions for myself that are helpful when I can locate them.

Filed in my cranial computer are helpful hints I’ve learned from former employers. One had a stack of stuff on his desk marked “Scream.” When I asked him what that meant, he replied. “Oh, I leave that correspondence there for a week and, if nobody screams, I throw it away.” I think the pile of filing on top of my printer has been there for several weeks now, so I should be able to throw a lot of it away. I will sort it first, however.

Since we make it a habit to pay credit card bills monthly and avoid paying interest, I have to watch those sneaky card companies that move payment dates around to trick you. I still receive paper statements so that I can be sure to check the charges before paying. Now I set up the payment on line as soon as I get the bill and program it for a few days before the due date. So far, it’s been working well. No interest--no late or service charges. I’ve also noticed that online payment is usually preset for the minimum payment, so you have to do extra work to pay the balance in full. No wonder so many people have financial problems.

Also, this coming Tuesday, my writing critique group starts up again and I need to get something written to take to that. I must have written something over the summer, if I can find it. I do get lazy when the group takes time off.
