Energy Transfusion

I don’t know what prompted sudden bursts of energy the last couple of days—maybe eating turkey three days in a row or swimming five consecutive days or getting a good nap now and then. But I managed to get several things done that have been on the procrastination list for a while.

The dresser that came down from the attic is now being utilized in the office area to hold a television on top and a lot of paperwork in the drawers. The messy looking bookcase that was holding those items previously is now looking tidier and actually has a few books in it. The fireplace is cleaned out and ready for a roaring fire. Thank you notes have been emailed. I know that’s probably not Emily Post, but eventually such epistles will probably be acceptable.

If it would just warm up a tad outside, I might get flowers cleaned up—toss the dead ones and deadhead the rest. Temperatures have not been as low as they were a few weeks ago, but the wind chill factor brings them down to an uncomfortable level.

The minimal Christmas decorating I did means that the takedown won’t be much of a chore. I did light the many Christmas candles once. I didn’t put up a tree at all. I kept thinking I’d get a small one, but I never got around to it.

My desk is a disaster area. I’m wavering between putting up my bamboo screen to hide it, or trying to make it less cluttered. It’s so handy to have so much stuff within reach, that I hate to put anything elsewhere.
