Faux SpringWe are having a fabulous fake spring with 60-degree sunny weather today. I actually had to water flowers on the deck. Our cold winter weather was for such a short period so long ago, I’ve almost forgotten it. After a good showing last week, with many losers, our T.O.P.S. (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) group didn’t do so well today. Almost everyone gained weight, most didn’t gain much, but only two of us lost. One gal lost ¾ pound and I lost a tenth of a pound, which doesn’t count. All our records are kept in quarter pound increments, so I was registered as “turtling,” meaning no change. But we had a good program featuring a list of snacks that contain 50 calories or less. I’m not thrilled with my recent progress. For the last year it seems I’ve gone up and down two pounds or less and now weigh almost exactly what I did on March 1st of last year. I’m going to try changing my exercise program around to see if that makes any difference. Even though I’ve gone down several dress sizes, I feel like I have more body fat than I did at this same weight twenty-five years ago. I certainly don’t have as much energy, but I think that has more to do with age than weight. I’m waiting for the Olympics figure skating to start this evening. I’m not as excited about skiing, half-pipe, etc. So far there has been some excellent figure skating and I look forward to more. 0 Comment(s) about this entry. | Permalink |
