Today Fred Meyer had a big sale that included a $30. newspaper coupon on purchases over $150. For several months I’ve been thinking about buying a Nintendo Wii to keep us off the couch this winter, so I decided today would be the day. When I got to the store this afternoon, there was also a coupon for a $50. Fred Meyer gift card offered with the purchase of the Wii. So I took advantage of those specials and bought the package and an extra remote.

I don’t have a clue how to set it up and the instructions look formidable, so I’m hoping to recruit my son-in-law for that task and perhaps a demonstration of at least one of the games.

Another special coupon for copy paper got me two reams for $2.99 each. I use a lot of paper and it doesn’t all have to be deluxe quality. For drafts, I use both sides, but even then, writing uses up a lot. I finished up the shopping with a few groceries and headed back home.

Earlier I’d had my usual swim/exercise session, so it was a pretty tiring day. Pool friends compare notes and, so far, I’ve learned that I’m not the only one who can’t grow fingernails and can’t seem to develop muscles no matter how many hours we spend working out in the water. We work those little tidbits in between bits of gossip.

I’m in email correspondence with my doctor’s office about the jaw problem that seems to be getting worse while the other sinus symptoms are improving. It doesn’t prevent me from eating, but it does get painful at times, as well as causing me to bite the inside of my lip repeatedly. I hope it’s something curable and not arthritis, as I suspect
