Here we Are--Home Again

We arrived at PDX at 11:22 p.m. Halloween night after a quite pleasant flight. It was fun to watch the flight attendants move around in their flowing wigs of white, black and purple. Our cab ride to the warehouse where the car was parked was short and we drove home in light traffic. I’m still trying to realign my body to the three-hour time change and, tomorrow night, another change will be thrown at it.

I had a good swim in our warm pool here at King City yesterday and spent most of my waking hours today buying and installing a new printer. It is now actually operational, although I haven’t tried the copier, scanner or fax yet, but it prints up a storm.

I hope there is a special place in Hell for hardware designers who place necessary openings in hidden crevices on the black backsides of their creations. Hooking it up to power was no problem, but I spent about ten minutes hunting for the the USB port and five, or so, trying to wriggle the little plug into the recessed opening with my left hand, while I balanced the printer with my right. Finding and reading the serial number was even more fun. If I weren’t so tired already, I’d make a voodoo doll and stick pins in it.

Being a tall old lady with trifocals is not helpful when attempting tasks that require twisting my spine into a pretzel.

In spite of all that, its good to be home from a wonderful vacation. We’re unpacked, except for finding a home for little odds and ends that I can’t quite bring myself to throw away.

My next frustrating project will be dealing with the pictures hiding in my digital camera.
