How About a Rant or TwoWe have a horrifying case going on in our city concerning a missing child. The news media milk every detail (what few they have) day and night. I’m not an expert on this type of case and maybe it’s helpful to keep people stirred up and listening to the same information over and over, but it certainly gets tiresome. I’m not sure where I read this—maybe Facebook or one of the email newsletters I receive. A young woman was complaining that she had grown up wearing size 0, but had ballooned up to a horrifying size 6, before she lost weight. Give me a break! I probably wore a double digit size before I was a double digit age. Size 0 equals nothing, nada, zero, zilch. What’s so great about that? On a brighter note, I’m having a fairly easy time maintaining the weight loss that took two years to accomplish. At least for the last few weeks, my weight has varied by less than three pounds or so above or below my goal weight. I hope it means that my metabolism has changed so that I don’t have to monitor every bite I put in my mouth so closely. I’m keeping up my swim/exercise program anyway—I need to in order to stay relatively agile and mobile. Now I need to work on my lazy memory that keeps forgetting to go to events that I’m really interested in. I missed the free musical program at the Club House next door on Sunday and didn’t remember until I noticed how many cars were parked over there. Our T.O.P.S. (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) group is scheduled to serve refreshments at the July musical, so I probably won’t miss that one. I’m enjoying the confirmation hearings for the Supreme Court nominee. I hope she makes it. She’ll be a refreshing addition to a somewhat stodgy group. 0 Comment(s) about this entry. | Permalink |
