How About This for a Lump of Coal

Last night I began to notice the familiar symptoms of sciatica running down the back of my left leg. This attack doesn’t seem as severe as the last, but it’s not a lot of fun. When I swam yesterday, my hips bothered me some, but the hot tub seemed to take the kinks out.

Since, as I expected, my doctor is out of the office for the holidays, I looked up sciatica on the web to remind myself of the treatment and began working at it immediately. Stretching, alternating ice and heat have helped considerably. I decided I’m not going to spend time on the phone waiting for an advice nurse to tell me what I pretty much already know, or worse, sit in a chair at Urgency Care for hours waiting for someone to look at me. If I’m not a lot better by Monday, I can resort to one of those options.

I’m going to enjoy the festivities anyway, as much as possible. Last minute shopping this afternoon was a bit hectic, but I only had to hit two stores, both very near home.

Happy Holidays to anyone who might be reading this!
