January in Fast Forward

This is probably the fastest January I’ve almost lived through. The weather has been better than usual and, (knock on wood), I’ve not had any colds, viruses, infections, etc. I haven’t really gotten into winter projects yet and winter is half over.

The small group of Kaiser weight maintenance study alumni is still meeting in Southeast Portland on Mondays, and I joined them today for a fun time. We also support each other with our weight problems and discuss some family issues. We vary in age and backgrounds, so there are different and interesting opinions to share.

My writing class had the first winter session on Wednesday the 13th with more than 20 students enrolled. That large number makes it cumbersome to get around to everyone who’d like to read at every class meeting. Normally there are a few dropouts, and not everyone is there at all the sessions, so maybe that will help. I’m working on several pages of my story about the trip to Ireland in 1998 that I hope to share for critiquing. We meet again day after tomorrow and weekly after that.

The clutter around my desk is getting to me so I may need to spend some time organizing before I can do serious writing. There always seem to be choices to make.
