Just Another Storm

Not much to report tonight. Just another stormy day. The wind and rain on the roof at the swimming pool this evening was extremely noisy. The one other brave soul who came to do exercises asked me several times if I thought we were safe. I assured her we were, even though I remembered a pool in Portland where the roof collapsed a while back. I tried to remember if it was wind, rain, or earthquake that caused the collapse. Now that I think about it more, it seems to me it was a collection of snow that did the damage.

I feel very fortunate that (knock on wood) we haven’t had a power outage in any of this wild weather. I started dinner early this afternoon, in case we might have that problem. Our fireplace actually isn’t set up for cooking, but there’s always food around here that is pre-cooked or stuff to make sandwiches by candlelight and we have lots of candles.

Seattle is soggier than we are, but I haven’t heard if they are having as many problems with wind as here. The weatherman says we shouldn’t have another storm like tonight’s until at least Sunday. There may even be a dry day on Saturday.Whoopee!
