Lucky Seven

I’ve always thought of seven as a lucky number. I have nothing to base that theory on. I don’t remember ever winning anything connected with that number, it’s just a superstitious belief. My sister Bea, in Seattle, became the great-grandmother of a six-pound baby girl, this evening on the 7th of November. I hope that date is lucky for the new little babe and all her very happy extended family.

My son was born on the 7th of January more than forty years ago. Life has not always handed him gifts on a silver platter, but he seems to be in a streak of good luck (triggered by much hard work) at present.

My critique group helped me tweak a couple of poems today. I hope I can get back in the swing of writing verses again. They are so much more fun than other writing?--ot necessarily easier, but more rewarding.

The other five members of that group are all working on stories, some that will be books, and all are fascinating. It’s exhilarating to be among other writers who help energize and motivate me to keep writing. I miss the people in the writing class I dropped, but I don’t miss the time commitment of having to be available every week for the two-hour class. The critique group meets every other week and fills my present needs well.
