Nothing Can Go Wrong, I HopeA retired Navy Chief who is the best buddy of a former friend, was famous for his cheerful, “Nothing can go wrong!” Now that we have plunked down five hundred dollars and change for insurance that we will not lose our air or cruise fare if the weather or some other disaster prevents us from boarding the ship on time, I’m pretty sure that nothing will go wrong. Otherwise, I’d worry every minute until we have climbed the gangplank. My next task is to organize the pile of paperwork concerning the cruise and make sure that we will remember to take the papers we need. I’m told you can’t get back into this country from anywhere now without a passport, so those are necessities, as well as the tickets. Our snow is melting slowly. Yesterday, I got out briefly to shop and swim. Today was better and I ran a number of errands, including shopping and swimming. The hot tub was a real treat after the visit to the chiropractor. Our high today was 39 degrees and we are promised highs in the forties over the next few days. I’m so glad the weather has improved enough that my cousin and his wife can come in from Scappoose Sunday to visit and go out to dinner with us. I only have a few cousins left and he is the one I get to see most often, but not always often enough. Most of my few remaining cousins are in California and I seldom, if ever, see them. I hope the snow is melting in Seattle also, so my two sisters can get out and about. They both live on hills and have been pretty much snowed in. I’ll have to look up their weather on the web, I guess.
It’s nearly time to watch Shark. I have to keep watching that show to see if I really like it. Most of the lawyer shows are unrealistic enough to be quite enjoyable--Boston Legal, for example.
