Now I’ve Really Heard Everything

Yesterday I answered the phone and, after a short delay, a disembodied voice apologized for inconveniencing me and advised that all their agents were busy with other customers now and they would call me back at a more convenient time. Convenient for whom? She continued to suggest that if I had any questions… That’s when I hung up.

For a long time, telemarketers having been dialing multiple numbers, taking the first one that answers and hanging up on the rest. Maybe they were getting too much flak for that. I can’t see that this is any better. Unwanted interruptions are unwelcome—apology or not.

Tonight I’m packed and ready to leave for California in the morning. I’m glad it rained today; I’d hate to leave in gorgeous sunshine. I’m looking forward to a great visit with a lot of relatives.

I probably won’t get back to the blog for at least a week.
