On a Roll

What is so rare as a high production day? I got on a hyper-energetic roll today and starting knocking off tasks one after the other. I’ll probably need three days to recover.

I’m not a big celebrator of the hype of Christmas, but since we were given a lovely tree, I feel we must at least put it up and decorate it, if only sparingly. I don’t want to accumulate a lot more stuff in the attic. So today, I brought the patio table in, draped it with a Christmas tablecloth and got it ready to hold the tree. I won’t bore you by delineating the more menial chores.

I didn’t even stop to go swimming until after dinner. I used up what little energy I had left in the cooler-than-usual pool and then luxuriated briefly in the hot tub.

Tonight, while I watch Shark, I’ll check out recent changes in my address book to update my Christmas card/letter labels. I have 25 copies of my Holiday letter ready to send, so I need to print labels.

Please, if you hate year-end letters, don’t send me nastygrams. If you should get one of mine, just recycle it. Nastygram is a term I picked up from my late husband who was a railroad man.

Tomorrow I hope to decorate the tree and hang new drapes in the master bedroom. There are drapes here that were undoubtedly white when new, and are now full of tiny holes. I bought some rose insulated drapes and I’m looking forward to seeing them on the window wall.

I just watched three fire engines and a fire aid car drive into the nearby shopping center, but I can’t see where they went. Maybe we’ll find out tomorrow what’s going on.
