On Not Writing

(as opposed to Stephen King’s On Writing)

Daunted is a good word for my feelings about memoir stories I’ve put together so far. They seem scattered and disorganized. I’m remembering how much work it was to put together the few books I’ve written and/or edited and I get tired thinking about it.

Obviously what I need to do is attack it in little pieces and try to celebrate each accomplishment. There, I’ve said it! Now to do it.

Laziness seems to be a theme of my life recently. I’ve neglected the blog as well as my other writing. It’s easier to sit and read or watch movies and more fun to sit outdoors or to swim indoors or out.

I do spend time reflecting on parts of my life I need to write about. Also, I’ve done some revising and rewriting of memoir stories.  I’ve also written a few verses that may be worth submitting to contests or markets.

Blank white space screams as loudly on a computer screen as on a piece of paper. Guess I’d better get busy and fill more of it.
