Preview of SummerWe are enjoying fabulous weather in the Portland Metro area, which should continue all weekend, according to the forecasters. Great weather for swimming and lounging and I did some of both today, in between errands. There is a possible threat of an electrical storm tomorrow afternoon, but tomorrow should be as warm as today was, or close. Our high was 88. Nights always cool off, and our windows are open to cool down our apartment over night. After studying sales for weeks, yesterday I walked into Bi-Mart to look at a folding patio table and chair set. Our old plastic stack chairs have deteriorated and the green is peeling off onto clothing. Our umbrella table is still in good condition. A tablecloth covers its need of a paint job. So, when I stumbled on folding chairs with adjustable backs that had been marked down $10 apiece, I grabbed the last four and brought them home. Floyd hauled the old chairs away today and I tried out one of the new ones. It’s very comfortable, very easy to adjust and to fold up for storage. I also picked up a planter tub for the tomato plant I bought a couple of days ago and got it planted. I still have to find some net to cover our strawberry tub before any berries start to turn pink. That is, if we want to eat any before the birds and squirrels get to them. We’ve been enjoying California strawberries, but the little Oregon ones have better flavor. Probably we’ll have rain in June, but we can enjoy this sunny sneak preview until it shows up. 0 Comment(s) about this entry. | Permalink |
