Rambling & Grumbling

Yesterday at a meeting of our writing critique group, I was reminded that one member is a retired dietician. So I asked her where I could find information on the number of grams of protein in a specific sized serving. She referred me to the website of the American Dietetic Association—www.eatright.org

I looked it up and found a gold mine of helpful information. I’m sure that exactly what I want is there somewhere, but I haven’t found it yet. I could spend hours on that really informative site and probably will, as I have the time.

In eight more days, I can swim again. Sigh. I think my waistline has grown already, with two weeks away from the pool. I can’t manage to get the same results on the treadmill that I get in the water.

Somehow or other, spring fever doesn’t seem to have infected the many organizations that send me emails. Being an election year, every day my inbox is inundated, before I even get to those the SPAM filter has set aside. However, my delete button works well and is faster than looking up the procedures for getting myself off all those mailing lists.

Reading is somewhat slower for me than usual until I get new glasses, so I have trouble keeping up. Today I made a special trip to a grocery store to redeem some coupons I thought expired today. I had misread the date and the expiration date was yesterday. All these minor inconveniences will be worth it I’m sure, when I have both eyes functioning properly again.
