Shopping AdventuresThis afternoon I got online to research television sets, searching in particular for one with a headphone jack—not too easy to find. I called the 800 number of an electronics chain and got some good information from a polite young man who sounded as if he might actually be in this country, maybe even on or from the west coast. No unintelligible foreign accent hampered our communication. I’ve always shied away from making large purchases online because of the possible difficulty of making adjustments if any problems come up. However, the idea of having the set delivered to my doorstep is very appealing. After checking a couple more details, I think I’ll probably go for it. When I picked up a few groceries earlier, the clerk who sold me some deli coleslaw told me about having “coleslaw to die for” at a Rose’s restaurant yesterday. I told him I avoid Rose’s because most of their food, especially the pastry, is to die for. He mentioned having a maple bar with a slice of bacon on it that tasted just like French toast and bacon. Interesting—I might have to try it. I haven’t had my one maple bar this year yet. I love those things, so I ration them. I wonder how many fat grams are lurking in such a weird delicacy. The water temperature in the pool was perfect today. The air temperature outside was pretty good also—not too high, but sunny and comfortable. I’m enjoying sampling different TV series on Hulu. I’m slowly learning my way around their website. I can see where that could become addictive and I need to get back to my writing. 0 Comment(s) about this entry. | Permalink |
