That Big Bright Ball in the SkyA few days of beautiful weather really raises morale in these parts. Now that we finally bit the bullet last summer and installed an air conditioner, I’m not dreading really hot days. If the weather gets hot enough, I might even dunk in an outdoor pool for a change. After four consecutive days of water workouts, I’m ready to take a couple of days off. Now that I finally reached my goal weight, it seems to be easier to keep it off than it’s ever been before. I’m hoping that means my metabolism has changed. I seem to be able to eat what I want, pretty much, without much fluctuation of weight. Of course, I think my stomach has been retrained and warns me when I’m getting too full. It also punishes me if I ignore that warning. Our TOPS chapter has been growing in numbers and enthusiasm. The last couple of meetings we’ve had 14 or 15 people in attendance and last week most of them had lost weight. Floyd’s oldest son and family are vacationing in Oregon for the next two weeks. We went to a big barbecue at a daughter’s house last night and had a great time. We’ll probably see them again before they leave. We’re really thankful the weather is good for them. It’s been very hot in Georgia where they live. I saw an interesting reality show this afternoon about people who’ve had lap band surgery for weight loss. Some of them have serious psychological problems after the surgery. Of course, the problems may have been there before, but not recognized. In any case, some of the symptoms are similar to those in other eating disorders such as anorexia or bulimia. Weight control requires lifestyle changes, no matter what method you use to get the excess pounds off. 0 Comment(s) about this entry. | Permalink |
