The Perils of Pauline

If you are too young to recognize the above title, look it up on Google.

The perils of Pauline have nothing on the perils of old age. I shall attempt to launch a humorous account of two senior citizens grasping several remote control devices and struggling to get a new television setup with way too many bells and whistles to bend to our commands. Frustration is not immediately funny.

It may be at least slightly humorous once we get it figured out. Doing so may require a call to Comcast, which generally results in more frustration until they walk me through their allegedly simple setup.

We try to prop up each others rusty memories whenever we can. Sometimes we get a few chuckles, or even laughs, in the process. I’m afraid I can’t manage more than a feeble chuckle tonight.

Thus I am back at my computer and, until I started on this, I was industriously editing memoir stories, something I know how to do fairly well after editing several books. It’s a lot more fun than trying to deal with electronic mysteries.
