The Times They Are Changing—Not

Times are changing in many respects, but maybe not in the most important ways. Communication is universal and constant. The protests in the 1960’s we heard about on the radio or television and in newspapers and magazines. Now we have the internet, Facebook and other online communication sites, Twitter, etc.

Here is a sample of what we can learn with a click of a mouse about the worldwide “Occupy” protests:

I was blown away by the scope of this movement. Maybe there’s hope that these voices will be heard and some positive changes will result.

I also received an email today with a long list of ways we can reform Congress, credited to Warren Buffett. They are all good ideas and would definitely change the way our government operates, but who are we going to get to pass those laws? This email came from a person I respect highly and was one of twenty she sent. The message requested that each person receiving it pass it on to twenty more people. I’m still thinking about what twenty people I might send it on to.

I promise not to always be political on my little blog, but sometimes I think the accounts of my daily life can be boring.
