Triumphant Day

It’s hard to explain how great it feels to get a job done that I’ve been procrastinating for weeks or months, even. But I got the refrigerator cleaned today. I’m ashamed to admit it’s the first time I removed the vegetable tray to clean underneath. Actually, it was clean under there, but Styrofoam and masking tape from the original packing were still in place, to my surprise. I hadn’t thought a new refrigerator had been installed when I first moved in, but apparently it wasn’t very old, anyway.

A few loads of laundry and various other household chores completed added to my sense of accomplishment for the day. I was ready to relax in the pool in late afternoon and soak in the hot tub while dinner bubbled in the crockpot.

I’m trying to keep the latest political controversy in the back of my mind. Whatever will be—will be.

We’re looking forward to a fun visit tomorrow and a neighborhood potluck on Monday to fill out the holiday weekend. We are glad not to have to travel anywhere.
