Welcome to the Sun

The sun is back and a welcome sight it is, even if I did have to water today. I don’t know why I keep watering the tomato plant with a crop of one. I could just pick it, make fried green tomato and forget the darned plant. But there are a few blossoms on it that may become tomatoes yet.

I am becoming expert at procrastinating to avoid writing, especially memoirs. Yesterday I found numerous long-delayed chores around my desk. Today it is totally organized, but there is still a stack of filing in a bin on a nearby bookcase waiting patiently to be dispensed with. The longer piles of paper stand around, the fewer remain that need to be filed. Usually some have become moot or obsolete and can be tossed.

Today domestic trivia and errands filled most of my time. This afternoon I got a haircut from my Italian lady barber who is in an exceptionally good mood because her annual vacation trip to Italy is just a few weeks away. I still intend to get in a swim before the evening is over.

Tonight I’m waiting impatiently for reports from traveling relatives and friends, as well as an update on my cousin who’s recovering from cancer surgery. I’m still working on not worrying about things I can do nothing about and I am getting better.
