Time’s a Wastin’

Back in my working days, I could write checks to pay all my bills and balance my checkbook in a couple of hours after dinner. Now it seems as if it takes me most of the day. I did get those things done today, and did a couple of other chores, as well.

Playing around with the computer, downloading updates, etc. takes time that I forget about, I guess. It’s true that when I had less time, I was better organized.

Maybe the reason I’ve never kept a journal is that I don’t want to be accountable for my time, especially now that I’ve retired.

Every time another year comes around and I add a higher number to my age, I feel the pressure of time and the desire not to waste it. But, that doesn’t last and I find myself parked in front of the television or reading email jokes. Life goes on.
