Through All Kinds of Weather

We are now having a “Fall type storm,” according to the weather forecasters, in mid August, after several scorching days, electrical storms, and rain showers, all in the last week. The popular saying, “If you don’t like the weather in Oregon, wait ten minutes,” is certainly reinforced by this recent trend.

Today was quite pleasant, with showers and a high of 73 degrees—very comfortable.

We had a birthday lunch today at a local Olive Garden restaurant for my daughter’s 55th birthday, which was actually yesterday. She and her husband, her brother and his wife, and Floyd and I shared Italian food and had a good visit. After hearing about how hard they all work, I had to come home and take a nap. It couldn’t have been the pasta that made me sleepy. Actually, I’m still catching up on the sleep I lost on those hot nights.

Tomorrow it’s supposed to rain all day—great weather for writing—and I have no appointments, so no excuses. I have so many writing projects in process, I’ll have to flip a coin to figure out where to start.
