Brrr Humbug

This weather has already been a long siege; it looks to be even longer—maybe much longer. We are still warm and comfortable. As long as the power stays on, all will be well.

Our wonderful neighbor continues to clear the sidewalks, which helped when we had some company earlier today, but we don’t plan to go out.

Emails from relatives up and down the coast are entertaining and help break the monotony.

Christmas, with this weather, has the potential to be very different this year. There are still several storm systems off the coast that could keep us housebound for the next week. Getting together with families may not be possible. But I’m sure we will survive.

We are well prepared with many candles, flashlights, fuel for the fireplace and cooked food to reheat over a fire. I’m not thrilled at the prospect of roughing it in that manner, but we’ve done it before and we can do it again.
