Aha DaysIt seems as if aging comes with a package of AHA’s, ofen followed by DUH’s. Ever since I’ve had this new computer, and I don’t even want to remember how long that is, I’ve had trouble with the sound volume. Some videos can’t be heard well even if I crank up the volume on the screen to 100. This morning I pulled the amplifiers out from behind the screen and, lo and behold, one amplifier has a button on it that, when turned, changes the volume. Duh! Now let’s move on to the fun part of my day. After a successful meeting of my T.O.P.S. group this morning, I decided to run several errands together that took me to the same neighborhood in Tualatin. I picked up my mail at the Tualatin post office where my ballot was waiting. Now I have to figure out how to vote. Then I picked up my favorite sandwich at a Hero shop—avocado delight—I ate half and brought half home for tomorrow. After that, I went to Staples and picked out a new chair for my computer desk. I’m having a lot of trouble with my neck and shoulders and attribute part of the cause to my old chair. I had made a window-shopping trip last week and picked out several that sat well, had high enough backs for extra support and were in my price bracket. Since it’s doubtful I’ll get more than twenty years’ use from a new chair, I didn’t want to spend several hundred dollars for the deluxe La-Z-Boy and I chose a less expensive one that I think will suit my needs well. With several gift cards purchased with Discover card cashback dollars, my actual cost was less than $40.00, so I plunked down an extra $10.00 for a warranty in case we damage it putting it together. We decided that, if I had it assembled at the store, it wouldn’t fit in either of our cars. Boxed, it barely fit into mine. Stay tuned for details of the assembly adventure and the test run. |
