On a Scale of One to Ten

So how much does anyone care what happens to Michael Jackson’s fortune? I’m afraid more people care than should. I deplore the fact that he, like some other sad human beings, is the idol of millions.

I could possibly care somewhat about what happens to his children. They’ve not had a very good start and deserve a better life.

I have definitely heard more about the entire situation than I ever wanted to know.

At my age, there are deaths, more than I’d like, that are closer to me—old friends and dear relatives. Each one leaves an empty space in my life.
