Way CoolWith any luck, we will be cooler in here by tomorrow night. My daughter picked up a window air conditioner for us this afternoon and she and her husband will bring it over tomorrow afternoon with a bracket. We’ll measure the window and get Plexiglas to fill up the empty space. It’s bigger than what we had in mind, but we can probably push the cool air around with fans and get it into most of the rooms. I don’t mind paying for all of that, but I really appreciate having the shopping done for me. Just gathering groceries and the few other items we need wears me out these days. Today I rushed to Fred Meyer when I saw it was the last day of an ad for clear plastic storage drawers at $9.99 for a set of three. I wanted two sets, but they only had one and I didn’t have it in me to go back to Tigard Fred Meyer from Tualatin to see if they had another one. Maybe I can throw enough more stuff away so that I’ll only need one to replace the old desk drawers. Tonight I got the table cleared off in this little room, so I can use it for sorting. So, after my swim in the morning, I can begin emptying desk drawers. It seems as if there is already a lot of storage in this room and I’m sure more of it needs to be cleared out. One day at a time. I keep finding more and more writing, particularly poetry, to edit and organize. I can’t believe how much I’ve generated in the last fifteen years. Some of it—actually maybe a lot—doesn’t deserve preservation. That needs to be my next major project. |
