I tend to believe in global warming—not because I have a lot of scientific know-how, but most of what I read is fairly convincing. We are breaking records with our weather this year, also. Today was a record high of 94 degrees and if we go over 90 degrees tomorrow, we’ll have a record number of 90 degrees, or over, days for summer this year. I’m not sorry I finally broke down and got an air conditioner. It makes sleeping so much easier on hot nights.

When I sprained my knee, my doctor recommended Tylenol to help control inflammation, as well as pain. Struggling with the bottle caps, I once again wondered why a product that is meant to help arthritis pain, as well as other symptoms, is packaged so that arthritic fingers can’t possibly get it open without the help of another pair of hands or a tool. My HMO pharmacy packages prescriptions with caps that require pressing a tab to open initially and can then be turned over and screwed on if there are no children in the household. My arthritic hands manage those very well.

My knee is improving, but getting in and out of the car is still a hassle, as is going up and down steps. I’m still spending a lot of time with my leg up and ice on my knee. I’m going to the pool in the morning for another shot at my exercises and a nice soak in the hot tub.

Thank goodness for the deli’s in the nearby grocery stores. I haven’t had to do much cooking the last few days.
